Knotts Berry Farm

Last summer we hit Disneyland and this year we went to Knotts. The kids did so well - I was amazed!! It was 103 degrees that day and just with missing naps and everything I was kind of worried but they had a blast!! Of course I couldn't really go on anything (except the Merry Go Round adn the train Ü) and I was so proud of Tyler for standing in all the lines and riding everything with the kids. They were fearless and wanted to go on everything (which they pretty much did if they were tall enough). Even Abby who a few months ago broke down in tears when I told her about the Log Ride and how she had to go on it with me ("Please Mommy don't make me go on that scary ride!") conquered the Log Ride and even went on the Jaguar roller coaster and this humongus new water drop ride with Tyler. She took one look at Montazuma's Revenge though and said, "Um, no." Ü Camp Snoopy

Stick 'em up!
It was a long - but fun day!!
Another highlight of the trip was going to Huntington Beach. Abby loved going out into the waves with Tyler, Andy loved running away from all the waves, and Alex loved collecting seaweed. He'd find these huge clumps of it and had quite a pile going over where Grandma Pam was sitting with all of our stuff. When it started collecting flies (Eww!) he carried it all back down and threw it back into the water. Too cute! We took a disposable camera to the beach so maybe when we get home I'll scan some of the pictures and post them. We'll be home Saturday the 5th. Time has flown!!

Rolie Polies

Something the boys have found to do here at Grandma and Grandpa's house is go searching for rolie polies. There are a ton out in the mornings and they go collect them all and put them in a cup. (The thing is you have to keep shaking or tapping the cup to keep them from all climbing out so guess who gets to have that job. Ü) They have lovingly named all the rolie polies Shuggy. Alex

Happy Birthday Abby!!

Abby had a birthday while we've been here in CA. She turned the big 6 yeards old on June 18th. On her birthday she got to go to school with Grandma Pam who teaches 1st grade. It was their last day of school and they were having a pizza party so that was fun for Abs. She felt very grown up going to work with grandma. (Not only was it the last day of school for the year but it was my mom's last day of teaching forever - she's officially retired! WooHoo!!) Tyler, the boys, and I were able to go over for the pizza party. Abby chose quesadillas for dinner and then had an ice cream cake. Some of the fun presents she got were books to practice her reading (she's such a good reader now!), an art set because she wants to be an artist when she grows up, the Pretty Pretty Princess game, TONS of clothes, and the movie Enchanted but I think her favorite present by far was her pack of bubble gum. She'd been banned from bubble gum until she was 6 - after we'd found gum she'd chewed in lots of various places - so it was a big moment for her.

Happy Father's Day Tyler!!!

June 15th was a crazy morning. Not only was it Father's Day with cards and presents for Tyler and his dad, but Tyler's parents were trying to get gone on their trip back home to Texas and we were trying to get ready to leave for our trip to CA. Andy was not cooperating very well and was being a stinker for all the pictures we were trying to take. He wasn't coming over so I could get a nice Father's Day picture with Ty so I picked him up with one hand and swung him onto his lap - knowing I'd have one cranky kid in the picture. In the process however I swung him into Alex and they conked heads - so now we had 2 cranky kids. This is the picture we ended up with. We love you Tyler!!!

P.S. We'll post the pics of Tyler's parents visit when we get back from California. Ü
