We were up in Utah from June 10th to June 16th for Tyler's family reunion. It was the first time in 10 years that all of Tyler's siblings had been together plus we got to see Tyler's grandparents and lots of aunts, uncles, and cousins. We had tons of fun! Some highlights from our trip were...
*Visiting BYU!!! This is where Tyler and I met and it was fun going back and seeing where we had our country dance class, where we had our first kiss, and where we lived after we got married. We ate lunch at the CougarEat, hit the bookstore where each kid got to pick out a book (an old tradition from Tyler's family) and then spent some time walking around campus. We didn't get to see too much since it was raining but we did get to see a beautiful double rainbow!

Andy's shoes broke almost as soon as we stepped onto campus. He was the only one who got BYU apparell on this trip - $21 BYU flip flops!
*Nieces and Nephews!!
* 7 Allen Sibs

Abby's first time jumping off the diving board!!
*Going to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple open house on Saturday June 13th. We were there when a huge storm hit! I mean HUGE! We were in a tent outside of the temple waiting to go in when it started pouring! The wind was blowing so hard and the thunder was so loud. The doors of the tent were flapping open and men were trying to tie the doors closed. Crazy scary!! They evenutally told us that it would be safer in the temple and for us to make a run for it. My kids were crying so hard as we ran to the temple and got there soaking wet. Luckily Tyler had stayed home with Ben and the kids I was there with several other family members. After all of the excitement wore off we were able to experience the beauty and peace of the temple.
In the paper on Monday there was an aritlce about the Angel Moroni on top of the Oquirrh Mountain Temple being struck by lightning in a storm Saturday afternoon - while we were there!! My sister in law went back to the temple a few days later and got this picutre of Moroni's burns.
* Celebrating family birthdays (including mine!)
*Four of our nieces, Larissa & Cassie Gruwell, and Hannah & Monah Valentine belong to the Texas Children Choir. Their choir was invited to sing on Music and the Spoken Word with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. What an amazing experience for them! They even got to meet the prophet. Our family wasn't able to watch the live performace in the Tabernacle because only children 8 years and older were allowed. We were able to watch the broadcast from the visitors center on Temple Square.
* Touring Temple Square and the conference center
*Sunday night we had a special dinner and program to honor Grandma and Grandpa Gibson. Tyler was able to bring home some heirlooms of theirs.
* Best of all we were able to spend time with tons of family who we love and miss very much!

We had a great vacation!

What a wonderful summary of the reunion and vacation. I love all the pictures and the great comments you included. You could make a book of all these fun blogs you create. Does the blog site allow you to print up the blogs?
Have a great day! Aldine Allen
