The weekend after Tyler's mom came out to visit us, Tyler went to visit her in San Antonio, TX.  Ty's mom tunred 70 years old in September and all the of her 7 children got together the weekend of October 22nd to celebrate this wonderful lady.  They had a photo shoot while there and these are some of the fun pictures that were taken.

Oh, it's my husband. Ü  He's the baby of the family.  He just celebrated his birhday this week too - 34 years old.

 Love This!!

 And now for goofy randomness

 Love the Laughs
When he got home Tyler mentioned how he was glad he and his siblings still all get along and actually like each other.  What a blessing!  I hope we can say the same for our little family one day.

Visitors

The weekend of October 15th we got to see some special people.  Grandma Allen and Grandma and Grandpa Gibson were in town for a memorial service for Grandma Gibson's brother, Carl.  We got to see several extended family members ~ some who live quite close but unfortunately we never really see.

Here are Ben and Andy playing Chutes and Ladders with Grandma Allen.  She was visiting from San Antonio and stayed at our house for 4 days.  We LOVE her!!

Here are the kids with Grandma and Grandpa Gibson.  They live in Utah and we spent some time with them this summer.  What a treat to see them again.  Grandma and Grandpa Gibson are Grandma Allen's parents ~ Tyler's grandparents ~ the kids great grandparents. Ü  In the middle is Grandma Gibson's sister Christine.

On Sunday October 16th we went to a brunch at one of the cousins' houses (Jan & Joyce).  They had a GORGEOUS backyard!!  Here the kids are looking at the pond with Uncle Vince.

Great photo ops!!

Here is Grandma Gibson and her remaining siblings.  Out of 11 children 6 of them are left.  I believe Grandma Gibson was the 3rd oldest in the family.  Let's see if I can get all their names right...
Back row ~ Bonnie, Hubert, Marva
Front row ~ Christine, Beth (Grandma Gibson), Marge
Christine and Marge are twins!!
We love our family!!

Halloween Crafts with Grandma Pam

Grandma Pam has come over several times over fall break and has made some fun crafts with the kids.

They made bats

decorated pumpkins
and made these pumpkin men
Here is Abby with all her Halloween crafts

Ben also made these cute ghosts in our last Mommy and Me

We're ready for Halloween!

Human Flag

The week before Fall Break started the students at American Leadership Academy came together to make a human flag.  My kids thought is was especially cool that the picture was going to be taken by a helicopter!

Getting into formation
If you look, Andy and Alex are in the back left corner in front of the teacher in the red shirt.  Their class made up the 2nd row from the bottom of white stripes.

Abby's class in in blue.  In this picture she in the front row wearing her khaki skirt.  Her back is turned.  She got to hold up a star!!

Their principle, Mr. Archunde, supervising from the roof.

The final shots!!  The middle school students made up the ALA; elementary students made the flag.  How cool is that!!
We are happy at ALA.  We were happy at CCR too.  I still haven't quite figured out why we felt to make the switch but I'm happy we did.  I really like the smaller school, the type of kids who are at this school, and the curriculum and leadership skills they are learning.

Mommy and Me

For the last several months some of  my friends and I have been getting together about once a week for a Mommy and Me group.  It's kind of like a simple preschool and the point is for us to actually sit down and do something fun with our kids - like we always think we're going to but never do. Ü  We've done playdoh, musical instruments, bean bag fun, made fishy tamborines, made crowns, and learned how "sharing is caring" - to name a few.  I was always thinking of starting a seperate Mommy and Me blog to document all our fun but I think I've given up on that. Ü

At the end of September we did an apple activity at our house.  We read books about apples, ate apple shaped rice krispy treats, and made necklaces out of apple jacks.

I got the idea for the apple shaped rice krispy treats off of the website http://www.toddlerboredombusters.com/ My apples looked more like pumpkins - but oh well!  Next time I can color them orange. Ü

Lisah even wore her apple dress for the occasion Ü
I love when I come up something semi creative Ü
