A few days after Tanner came home Tyler and Andy made up some songs for him. The other kids caught on quick and still sing them to him.

The First 2 Weeks
These 2 weeks have been good. Tyler was able to take a week and a half off of work. Then with my mother in law here too I've had lots of help. Of course I didn't take advantage of it like I should. I've done too much and not rested enough in my attempts to be super mom. But over all I am happy. Now that I'm alone again my mom has been coming over and keeping Ben occupied so I can rest and get things done. The big kids have been super helpful too. I'm trying to teach them that they don't need to run over and pick them up every time he makes a little squeak. Ü Abby especially loves to hold and take care of him. We love this little guy!! There is nothing better than a baby. Ü

Tanner's Blessing January 8, 2012
Tyler's mom was out for a visit from January 5th - 11th. Tyler's dad doesn't travel much anymore so it's just been mom who has come out the last few times. It's alwasy so nice to have her here. She made hats for the big kids and brought Tanner a few outfits. We made 3 different kinds of bread and yummy cinnamon rolls while she was here. She played games with the kids, read to them, went to the park with them, and was a great help at holding a baby - even when he peed on her multiple times. Ü
Since she was in town - and wasn't going to be able to come back out in a few months - we went ahead and blessed Tanner on Jaunary 8th. I'm sure people thought we were nuts blessing our 1 week old baby. Don't worry ~ I left right after the sacrament was passed.

Tanner was blessed by his Daddy. Grandpa Dave, Travis Schureman, Alan Billingsley, Sterling Kent, and Bishop Miller assisted with the blessing. Aaron Hullinger and Tres Service were also asked but they were not in church that day. Daddy told Tanner he was a choice spirit who would help further the Lord's work. He said his testimony would shine forth and that he would have no fear in sharing the gospel. Daddy blessed Tanner that he would recognize the love his family had for him and that he would follow the examples of his siblings. He was blessed with health and strength as he served a mission, married in the temple, and magnified his callings. He was told that he would be a great example.
Check this out! Tyler and I keep calling Tanner Ben. Look close and see what I even wrote on the calendar on the 8th!!
What a special day!

Coming Home
Because of my having the Group B Strep Tanner had to stay in the hospital 48 hours. The pediatrician at the hospital said he could be released at 8:08pm on the 31st and not a minute before. Of course that meant more like 9pm but whatever. Ü We had some very excited kids waiting for us.
