5 Weeks

Tanner is 5 weeks old already!!  Time is flying!  He is such a good baby.  He only fusses when he is hungry and tired.  We've kind of got a little routine down. He wakes up and nurses on one side.  He always falls asleep when he eats and so to wake him up we burp, change diapers, and have play time until he starts to get fussy.  Play time usually lasts anywhere from 5-30 minutes.  Then he nurses on the other side and goes to sleep for anywhere to 1-3 hours.  We're starting to get a 5 hour nap some days too.  At night he is up twice but always goes right back to sleep.  Right before he turned a month old Tanner started smiling and cooing.  We love this happy boy!!
Here are some pics from the last couple of weeks.
Ben is so gentle with him.  I love to watch them together.  Ben loves to rub his chin on Tanner's soft head.  My mom still comes and helps quite a bit and I know this attention is helping with the transition.  Not that I expected him to do horribly but it really amazes me how well he has done.

No more pictures mom, please!

First official Sunday at church ~ Feb. 5th
Even though he has been to church 3 times already (when he was blessed, for the confirmation of the Davis', and last week when Andy and Alex sang) today was the first time he stayed for the whole block.

I am doing well.  I have my 6 week check up with my OB tomorrow.  I am under my prepregnancy weight and am very happy about that.  I just need to stop eating Chips Ahoy cookies so I can stay that way! Ü

Love the pictures and all your cute comments! I wish I could give him some more kisses! I guess you will have to give them to him for me.  Love you!

Tim & Renee's Baptism

On January 21st our good friends Tim and Renee Davis were baptized.  They live close by in our neighborhood and we met through a mutual friend in the ward, Vicki, who was the Davis' next door neighbor.  I actually babysat their son Lucas several years ago.  We've stayed friends and after Renee stopped working this summer she started hanging out with us at all our mommy playgroups.  Tim and Renee had been to several church activities and had known the invitation to come to church was always there.  They surprised everyone in November when they showed up at our ward!!  From that first Sunday they were on fire.  I was very blessed to participate in the missionary discussions with them ~ the first time I have ever done so ~ and am now going to their new member discussions as well.
Such a happy day!!  I cried ~ and I'm not a crier.

They had several missionaries working with them due to transfers and zoning boundary changes and things.  Pictured are Elder Marks, Elder Sprauge, Renee, Tim, Elder Goodwin, and Elder Wahlen.  Not pictured is Elder Burnett who was transferred to Sholow before the baptism.

I Hope They Call Me on a Mission

Last Sunday, January 29th, Andy and Alex sang I Hope They Call Me on a Mission in sacrament meeting.  They did awesome!!  We were so proud.
Alex said, "It's a good thing Andy is older.  He gets to go on his mission 5 minutes before me!"
