Pet Fish

Alex bought 2 fish with his own money over a year ago February.  He named them Pooh Bear and Honey.  I thought I should finally get a picture of him with them.

Pooh Bear and Honey ~ They've grown a lot!

At the ALA Carnival in February Alex and Andy both won a fish at one of the games.

Alex with Fins

Andy with Flipers

We put both fish in the same bowl but Fins only lasted about a week.  So imagine how surprised we were when over a month later Flippers had babies!!

Here are 9 of them ~ we got 12 in all!!

Now Andy is the proud owner of 13 fish!

Dear Carrie
Just incredible, the fish story, that is. How proud they must be with all those fish. I hope you don't have to take care of them. By the way how is that baby of yours doing. He must be getting pretty big by now. and cute too.

Grandpa had a cortizone injection in his back this morning and is doing well. He has to stay down most of the time until Wednesday. We are surely hoping that he is going to feel better now as he has suffered with his back for so long.

We are having beatuiful spring weather now with a little rain every few days. Arlea was here for a few days and planted flowers in most of my empty flower pots. I cant wait until they start growing as they are going to be beautiful and they will be easy for me to take care ofl.

Our love to each of you, Grandma Gibson.

Chick-Fill-A Cow

Spring Break

Abby, Andy, and Alex had 2 weeks off for spring break during the middle of March.
We had lots of firsts and fun!!

We had a few animal visitors at our house over break.
We took care of Abby's class pet ~ Viper!

He lived on our island
A snake would not be my first choice for a pet but I guess it really wasn't that bad.
The frozen mice in my freezer was what I really wasn't ok with. Ü

Andy and Alex had been studying butterflies in class and brought home their cacoons as they would be hatching over break.

Andy and Rocket

Alex and Zander

They brought them home Friday, March 9th, and by Wednesday we had butterflies!!

Andy and Alex were all set to keep their butterlfies forever but we finally convinced them to let them go on a few days after they had hatched.  I got a cute video of that ~ which included footage of one of the butterflies being attacked by the neighbor's cat.  Luckily both butterflies made it out safely and flew off to freedom.

Abby got to go with the Service family and the Kent family over to the new Gilbert Temple they are building for some fun pictures.

They went through the visitors center there and the kids each got to bring home a rock from the temple site.

March Madness Time!!
Daddy helped Andy and Alex fill out their brackets

St. Patick's Day was during spring break.  The kids all got some fun green surprises and of course some gold money.

Burger King was giving out free fries with green ketchup that day.  We had to take advantage of that!!

Tanner was there too. Ü
Notice Abby's shamrocks have already fallen off her head band Ü

The ketchup turned your tongue green!!
On Monday March 19th we went up to Mesa to visit Grandma Hall

We stopped by Grandpa Hall's grave

and went to Organ Stop Pizza

It was packed!!

Here's the organ player ~ he put on quite a show!!

Daddy, Andy, and Abby (with Chloe ~ a girl who sat at the table next to us) watching the show

We started a tradition last year that when we get our tax return we will go to a nice restaraunt.  We don't take the kids out to eat too often so this is a fun treat.  Last year we went to Texas Roadhouse and this year, on Wed. March 21st,  we chose to have cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory.  I took some fun pictures while we waited for our cheesecake but then forgot to take pictures once our cheesecake got there!  We got a piece of Hershey Bar and a piece of Coconut Cream.  YUMMY!!

On Thursday, March 20th, we went ice skating at the Arcadia Ice Arena.  We got an awesome groupon deal where our whole family got to go for $20!!  This included skate rental.  We were so there!

Abby, Andy, and Alex got on the ice and just took off

Infact Alex was a little too confident and within 5 minutes he fell and got this shiner

Ben wasn't so sure and held onto the wall for quite a while.  He eventually did venture off while holding someone's hand.

Ben is sitting here watching me blog.  He saw his picture and said, "Type about me."
He wanted me to say, "Ben went ice skating with the big kids."

We took Andy and Alex's friend Cole (in the green jacket) with us
(the groupon was good for 6 tickets but Ben was free!)

The ice sakting arena was close to Daddy's work.  We pick him up there and dropped him back off.  He recently started working at a new building and brought us in for a little tour.
