Guess how old she is???
Abby got to celebrate her birthday 4 different times!
The first time was with our good friends the Kents. They were going to be out of town for Abby's party so they came over a week before her birthday to play. We celebrated with Hostess Cupcakes.

Our neighbor's cat recently had kittens. Abby REALLY wanted one. We were dead set against it...until we saw her with them. Ü Here she is begging one with last time.

Was she sure surprised when daddy said ok.

Really??? |
She was extremely happy!!!
The kitten can leave its Mommy in 2-3 more weeks. We must be out of our minds.
Alex says he likes it when we go out of our minds.
Abby is doing pretty well. She is in remission from her dermatomyositis. About a year ago she was diagnosed with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder ~ although it is nothing like the OCD everyone is familiar with and I'm not even positive that is the right diagnosis for her. She is on Prozac and it has seemed to even out her moods and helped with some of her compulsions. However, it is making her gain weight again which really affects how she views herself. She does seem happier, however she says she always feels sad ~ "sometimes the feeling is as small as an ant and sometimes it is as big as a giant." When she gets extrememly overwhelmed she hurts herself...picks at herself until she bleeds, bites herself, hits herself. She says that makes her feel better. She also still has a problem with dishonesty. We have started counseling...again...and really hope this time she can learn the coping skills she needs.
She is a special, special girl who drives us completely crazy and who we love with all our heart.

Priceless!! She really got to milk her birthday for a long time! You go Abby!! Love you so much and can’t wait to see you in September. Also, Thanks for the update on her health situations. I feel so bad that we didn’t get to skype on Father’s day. I called Sunday evening but you must have been at your parent’s.
