4th of July

We had our annual swim party and b-b-q at the Snow's house for 4th of July.

Tanner has not liked the water much at all this summer.  He becomes completely clingy once he gets in the pool.

I don't know how but Daddy finally got him to loosen up and have some fun.  Daddy's are good at that...

Rings on the head and a soggy diaper Ü

It was a pretty laid back year.  We came home from Aunt Marsha's and watched the fireworks from Schnepf Farms out of our bedroom window.

Happy Birthday America!!

18 months old

Our little Tanner turned 18 months at the end of June.  My friend Kathy was awesome enough to give him a haircut AND take his pictures.  WooHoo!!

We wanted to get some before and after haircut pictures...because they always look so much older after a haircut. Ü

This first group of pictures were taken in our backyard on July 2nd...

such a sweetie!

he saw an airplane Ü

At the time of this picture he had 6 teeth...but 2 more have broken through since then

I left Tanner outside for a few minutes after his pictures to walk Kathy to the door and I came back to THIS!!  Wow!

After haircut pictures...July 4th...at the Lee's hosue

He is a pretty tough cookie to get a smile from sometimes

So serious!

Really Kathy...more pictures!  I won't smile but I'll sign I love you. Ü

We bribed him with chocolate!

Finally a smile!

Tanner's 18 month stats....

23.8 lbs (41st %)
34 3/4 " (97th %)

He is a sweet, happy boy who just wanders from toy and toy and place to place all day long.  I'm constantly checking where he is because he's in one spot one minute and then gone the next.  He can go from squeals of delight to squeals of a tantrum in seconds!  He is finally liking to sit with me and look at books.  His favorite things are his binky and blanky...which I try to just limit to bedtime.  He loves to climb...up and down...up and down...on and off...over and over. Ü

His pediatrician would like him to come back in 3 months to see if he's made any progress in his speech.  He can say "ba" for ball, "baba" for bubbles, and "da" for dog.  He uses "mama" and "dada" interchangeably for Tyler and I and pretty much for everything else.  He does say "num" when he wants more food.  He can do several signs, point to different parts of his body, makes animals sounds, and understands pretty much everything we say so I'm not too worried.

I'm excited to have some one on one time with this little man when the big kids start school next week!  Love ya buddy!

Where's Tanner

There He Is!!!

This Month is Such a Special One

June was a special month for Abby so I thought she deserved her own post. Ü

At the beginning of June she was able to go to Camp Cruz...a 6 day/5 night camp for children with all forms of juvenile arthritis.  While she has gone to family camp before ~ Camp Ila...where daddy and brothers are there ~ this camp was jut for kids.  And so she went...pretty much not knowing anyone except for those she recognized from Camp Ila.  She was nervous, we were nervous, but she did it...and had a GREAT time!!

These pictures are some I took, some she took, and some that the arthritis foundation posted on facebook....

On her way ~ June 4, 2013

Bye Bye ~ Love You!!

Tyler took her up to the bus but pretty much just had to leave her there so he could get to work.  This was kind of a sad picture to see on facebook...her sitting all alone...but she said she was happy listening to daddy's old MP3 player.

She found a friend to sit with ~ Isabella.  It was her 1st time at camp too and she was close to Abby's age.  There were several pictures of them together posted on facebook so I thought they had become pretty good friends.  When I asked Abby about her later on she said, "Actually Isabella was pretty annoying.  She was really loud and in my face all the time."  Oh Abby!
Arriving at camp...Camp Civitan
How the counselors greeted the kids when they got off the bus.  Abby isn't in this pictures but it's a fun memory.

The thing she was most excited about!!

Her horse's name was Roan

 Coming home!!

Andy was excited to see his sister

rocks she painted for me...they say MOM Ü

They did arts and crafts, relay games, fishing, had a carnival, a food fight, a movie night (they watched Wreck it Ralph), watched the counselors do skits, did an egg drop, a dance and of course horseback riding...Abby's favorite.  Her other favorite thing was the food. Ü  After talking to Abby it sounds like there were several activities that she did not participate in (which explains the very few pictures she was in!).  She was either "not feeling well" or "too tired" which is a bummer but at least she went and she says she is TOTALLY going back next year. Yay!! Ü

The other special thing that happens in June is...

ABBY'S BIRTHDAY!!!

We had an impromptu party at Grandma's & Grandpa's on Father' Day...
