November 2015

November started out with us going to a Family Fun Fair at Vertuccio Farms.
11-7-15

It was like being at Disneyland all over again Ü

A sister in our ward was involved in this event and gave the Young Women the opportunity to help out at different booths as part of a Personal Progress project.  Abby helped at the face painting booth.  She colored this sign for it...

She was a little nervous to actually paint anyone's face..but she was a good model for what designs were available. Ü

~ Super fun night!! ~

I got to help these ladies decorate our school's gym for the annual Veteran's Day breakfast
~ with Becky Modjeski and Roseanne Service ~

The idea was to put pictures of Veterans on the tables as part of the centerpieces.  I was able to display pictures of some of the Veterans in our family which was super neat!!
Here is Tyler's great grandfather Ammon Stevens...

Laying flat on the table are pictures of Tyler's grandpa Wallce Gibson and my grandpa Jerold Hall

Here they are a little closer...

I also contributed pictures of my 2 borthers-in-law Jeff Gruwell and Todd Valentine and my great uncle Duffy Nielsen.  It was an honor to pay tribute to them this way.

ALA's Veteran's Day Assembly

Andy chose to wear his boy scout uniform and participate in the flag ceremony
~ top left...for some reason not saluting at the moment Ü ~

Each grade took turns singing periotic songs to the Veterans seated on the right.  When a specific military branch's song was sung, those who served in that branch stood up.  Ben's grade sung Anchors Away and 6th grade sung From the Halls of Montezuma.

As the veterans were dismissed into the gym for breakfast the 6th grade got to line the sidewalks and high five them.  Pretty special!!  Thank you Veterans!!

On actual Veterans Day the boys celebrated by whittling away!!  They finally earned their Tote-N-Chip as scouts and were able to bust out the pocket knives they received for their birthday. Ü

Andy made a butter knife...

..and even carved his name into it!!

I remember Alex whittling a flower...but I guess I didn't get a picture of it...

They also practiced their duet for their upcoming piano recital... Ü

...and went fishing!!!  Alex was VERY excited about the size of the fish he caught.

They loved scarfing it down!!  Tanner even ate some...and liked it.  I remember Abby and I going out for a girls night that night... Ü

Our 4 boys participated in our wards Primary Program on November 13th.
Tanner was very excited about his new outfit for the day. Ü

Our ward's primary presidency lets the kids write their own parts for the program.  Each class has a theme and they write parts to fit that theme.  I was proud of my boys!!

Andy's part- I know that Jesus Christ lived and came to this earth to teach the gospel. By following his teachings we can return to live with Heavenly Father again. I know that He atoned for our sins in the Garden of Gethsemane.

Alex's part - I know that Jesus And Heavenly Father appeared to Joseph Smith. Angel Moroni helped him find the gold plates. I know Joseph Smith was a prophet and restored the true church on earth.

Ben's part ~ I can obey by following directions quickly when my mom or teacher ask.

Tanner's part (written by the presideny/said by his whole Sunbeam class...although they kind of help the microphone up to Tanner and he said it very proudly Ü) ~ Jesus Christ is the son of God

This most likely was Andy and Alex's last primary program. :(

Ben earned 2 belt loop in Tiger Cubs...Games Tigers Play & Backyard Jungle
~ with his den and den leader Glen Tooley ~

Yay Ben!!

My Grandpa Jerold Hall, mentioned above, passed away in May of 2000.  His twin brother, Harold, passed away on Nomvember 14th at the age of 93.  They lived next door to each other almost their entire married lives.  I wonder what that reunion in heaven was like...

There were 3 sets of twins in the Hall family.  This picture is of the dads and their twins. Ü  My grandpa is on the top right...his twin Harold on the top left.  Their dad Henry is in the center.

This is the last picture of I have of Haorld in 2008.  He is seated with his brothers Ben & Wayne standing.  Now just Uncle Ben is the only Hall brother left...

I love my Aunt Toni.  She is so sweet.  She doesn't remember much now...but she used to love to come over when we were at Grandma Hall's house and play with my kids.  She would always give them cookies.  They really looked forward to seeing her. Ü  Its hard to see her getting older and not remember...

Its that time of year...the time of year when the youth go on a Thanksgiving Scavenger Hunt and the food sits in my house for a few weeks until Tyler and his counselors deliver it.  Its a love/hate thing. Ü

What's special is that my kids love helping to sort it out and load it all up...
~Andy in the truck helping to organize ~
They delivered food to 8 families and almost 30 turkeys were donated and delivered

Abby's not the most social of girls...so opportunities for her to go out with friends are super special.  Here she is going with Sammi, Katelynn, and McKenzie to see Emily Christman, a girl in our ward, perform in ALA's production of The Music Man

Zoo Day with the Kents!!
(and Crysta Shepherd)
~ 11-25-15 ~

The highlight of the day was petting the rays...

...But the entire day was super fun.  Thank you Pogo Pass!!

Hi Mr. Turkey!  Are you our dinner tomorrow?? Ü

Audrey was Tanner buddy for the day.  Not sure what the scowl is for...he loves Audrey!! Ü

The animals even had a Thanksgiving feast too!!

Posing with the statues is a must...

Watch out for the big mean spider!!!

Petting Zoo

We spontaneously decided to get some family pictures taken while we were at the zoo.  We had us, Kathy and her camera, and some awesome scenery/fun backgrounds...so why not!  The kids weren't exactly cooperative...but are they ever? Ü

We're happy with how they turned out.  Thanks Kathy!! Ü

More eating for the monkeys

The orangutan's are probably my favorite!

...but they do always look so depressed... :(

Tanner brought his own money to the zoo so he could ride the carousel.
He still wouldn't ride on an animal though...

Last stop...the safari

We hit laser tag on the way home Ü

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

Tyler's turkey cooked in the Wilkin's turkey pit down the street.
This year he marinated it in Italian dressing...

We needed a shelf put up in the garage...so we invited some friends over to help us put it up
