I hope it's ok that I'm sharing these but I thought these were too cute. I love things kids say!!
My cousin Emily's family were putting up their Christmas tree. She'd put a movie on in the other room so her 2 year old, Crue, could go back and forth. After a while she noticed Crue in with them and Cade, their 6 year old missing. She went and found Cade watching the Living Scriptures movie about Ammon. He had his little workbook out following along with the movie. Emily said, "Cade, what are you doing? I'd put a movie on for Crue and now he's in here making a mess." Cade said, "Mom, I'm just trying to learn about God."
One of the girls I visit teach, Marni, had giving her daughter Trysta, who is 3, some choices but Trysta tried to pick something that wasn't one of the choices. Marni said, "Nice try but that's not how the game is played." Trysta said, "Well then how is the game played Mom."

Collections
Andy has a fuzz collection. He started it awhile ago. Anytime he finds fuzz on the ground he picks it up and puts it in his little bag. The other day he wanted Alex to collect fuzz with him but Alex didn't want to. Andy said, "But Alex, don't you want to collect soft things with me?" Andy loves anything soft. He rubs his "softies" on his chin. He has stolen several of my dish towels to sleep with because he thinks they are so soft.
A little while later Alex decided he was ready to start his collection but he wanted to collect hard things - rocks, plasic things, etc.
Basically I just need to vaccum more. Ü

Goo

GOO
2 cups white glue (I buy it by the gallon at Staples or Teaching Tools)
food coloring
4 cups water
1/2 cup Borax (in the laundry aisle. It comes in a greenish box with red letters that say "20 Mule Team Borax)
Combine glue, food coloring, and 2 cups of the water in a bowl.Make sure your borax isn't clumpy. If it is, you can put it in the blender to break up the clumps. Pour the whole measurement of borax into another 2 cups of water while stirring. Don't stop stirring or the borax will settle to the bottom and make more clumps. Pour quickly and all at once into the glue mixture and stir that quickly. Then get your hands in and start kneading it around and feeling for clumps of borax and popping the bubbles. In about 30 seconds you will have a big slimy blob that you can lift out of the bowl. Keep kneading and working it until it is smooth. Some of the water will stay in the bowl.This is the best stuff EVER!!

New Calling
I have a new calling in our ward that I am really excited about. I am one of the activity day leaders for the 8 year old girls. Funny thing is my co-leader served in the Primary Presidency with me and is my visiting teaching companion. Good thing I love her! Ü So every other Tuesday night is going to be really crazy as I have activity days from 5:30-6:30 and Tyler has 11 year old Scouts form 5:30-7pm. We've decided that we'll just make it a family event. All of us will head down to the church and I'll take Ben and Abby with me and Ty will take Andy and Alex. The boys love going to boy scouts with Dad and I'm excited to have Abby be an honorary activity day girl and be around girls a little bit older than her (although she is taller than most of them Ü). We have about 9 girls in our group and of course everyone of them wanted to hold Ben. This is going to be tons of fun!!!
Picture Time
Here's Ben in his Bumbo seat. Thanks to the Wares for letting us borrow it. He loves to sit in it. His little polka dot outfit is one of my favorites and it is getting too small for him. :(

Good Stuff
For my post this week I think I will copy some awesome quotes that I have seen on other friend's blogs. Hopefully they will uplift you as they did me.
If you focus on the negative, it is all you will see.
Every 60 seconds of being angry is a minute of happiness you can't ever get back.
Cleaning and scrubbing can wait till tomorrow
Cause babies grow up we have learned with our sorrow
So Quiet down cobwebs, Dust go to sleep
I'm rocking my babies and babies don't keep..

I must have the hands of Martha; Hands that scrub and cook and sew;
I can have the heart of Mary while I do these things, you know;
Though my hands are in the dishpan, this soul of mine can soar;
And in thoughts sublime and lofty go right up to heaven's door.
I must cook, oh endless dinners, for dear ones have to eat;
But my soul need not be cooking --It can sit at Jesus' feet!
Help me, God, while doing duties, against which my soul rebels;
Meekly still to peel potatoes, but not to grovel in the shells.
Grant me, God, 'mid things prosaic, Ere to choose the better part;
Grant that while I must be "Martha", I can have a "Mary" heart.

Andy's Show and Tell
Friday is show and tell day at the boys' preschool. The other week Andy wanted to take Ben to share. After making sure it was ok with his teacher I brought Ben in. In trying to get Andy to talk alittle bit I asked him what was something Ben did a lot of. I thought Andy would say cry or sleep but he said "spit up." Yep, that's true too. Ü When Andy's teacher asked if there was anything else he's like to say about Ben Andy said, "I'll always love him and he'll always love me."
Alex didn't want to share Ben so he shared Milk Duds. Ü

Ward Campout
Our ward campout was October 24th and 25th. Tyler took Abby, Andy, and Alex. I decided that if I had to get up in the middle of the night to nurse Benjamin I'd rather do it in the comfort of my own home. Ü The ward went to Canyon Lake. It looks beautiful!

Tyler sang in a quartet during the talent show. They sang several hymns together. They sounded great during practices at our house the week before.

Tyler has taken up a new hobby - fishing. He and the kids have been 3 times now but they still haven't caught anything. Oh well, it makes for good Daddy/kid dates.

With Tyler being involved in boy scouts he has really started to enjoy camping again. He loved going camping with his family growing up and wants us to make a tradition to go every Memorial Day and Labor Day. I'm not much of a camper myself but I'm willing to give it a shot as I know it will make great memories for the kids.

Tyler turned 31
Tyler celebrated his 31st birthday on October 27th. Andy, Alex, Benjamin, and I surprised Tyler at his work. He'd been wanting us to come up for awhile and meet his coworkers but since UOP is 40 miles away we don't make it over there too often. He was very happy to see us.
The boys picked out these balloons for him.
We took him to Red Lobster for lunch. He'd been dying to have some of their endless shrimp. I even tried some - coconut shrimp is yummy!!

It's fun dressing Ben in some of the same outfits the boys wore. Here is an especially cute outfit.
Primary Program
Our Primary Program was on October 19th. It was the boys first program and Abby's 3rd. Abby did awesome on her part. The Sunbeams all sang "I Belong to the Church of Jesus Christ" together. My boys fought over the microphone. It was lovely. The Sunbeams were also supposed to say a scripture together but then never did. Here is a video of my kids saying their parts. It's also a great view of our family life. Ü
