Abby and Alex participated in the play "The Aristocats" through the Queen Creek Performing Arts Center a few weeks ago. I LOVE that some of my kids like to be in plays. It gets pretty hectic those last few weeks before the play, but then the performance comes and it makes it all worth it.
Alex was in the show choir which performed 3 numbers before the play and then was in the finale. Abby was in the Ruff Rangers group of the play. I had to make both of them up to look like dogs. I do not know much about make up at all and have never used liquid eye liner in my life! Alex was so worried while I did his make up and went to rehearsal telling me he was going to be the worst looking kid there. When he got home he said, "Actually mom, you did pretty good. I'd say I looked like 5th best!"

Their opening night was the same night I was at Time Out For Women...but Grandma Pam, Grandpa Dave, Andy, and Ben went to see them.

They did a show Friday night, Saturday afternoon, and Monday night. Tyler and I went to the Monday night show.

More of the make up saga...So Tyler had to do their make up Friday and Saturday while I was gone to TOFW. When I sat down Monday to do Alex's make up he said, "Mom, Dad did a better job then you...can he please do our make up again tonight." Really!?!?!
Here are some pictures from the show...Thank You Facebook!!
The show choir sang The Lion Sleeps Tonight, Rockin' Robin, and Hound Dog. Here they boys are praciticng their Elvis moves. Alex had a chance to have the mic during Hound Dog and sing a solo...but he chickened out. :( I took this picture during a rehearsal. There weren't any pictures posted of the show choir from the actual performance.

These pictures are in no particular order...
Madamme, Duchess, kittens, and Edgar
The Ruff Rangers had several dance numbers...the cats and dogs have a whole dance off scene at the beginning of the play.

Thomas O'Malley
(He's in Abby's math class at school...she may or may not have a crush on him Ü)
Amelia & Abby ~ a couple of gabbling geese
The whole crew!
You can see Alex in the very far right hand corner...bottom of the stage in a white shirt & red tie.
Abby is in the very back left hand corner on a riser.
The kids had fun taking pictures with friends they had made as well as with their directors and choreographers.
In the words of Abby, "I just love being in the theater. Whenever its time to go home I just don't want to leave. I could see myself doing this the rest of my life."
They are already excited about the next play in the spring and decided their audition songs.
We just maybe sort of might be a theater family. Ü
