HAPPY EASTER!!

Fathers and Sons

This weekend (April 22nd & 23rd) was the Fathers and Sons campout.

They had fun making a HUGE campfire (obviously this isn't the fire but it's the spot). According to Alex when I talked to him on the phone Friday night the fire was super big and they still had thousands of sticks they had collected to put into it. Apparently Andy thought his flash light was a stick and threw it into the fire. It didn't work any more.

Here they are with Jacob Owens.
They hiked all over the mountain (with Walker Milius)

They found grubs - huge icky ones that they stabbed and their guts came out. They cut a worm in half and watched it wriggle before they threw it in the fire. They caught live crickets and threw them in the fire. They also saw a snake but weren't fast enough to catch it. BOYS!

They had hot dogs and smores for dinner and pancakes, bacon, and orange juice for breakfast (provided by the High Priests).

They loved their Daddy/Boy time.

This Boy

Has reached a whole new level of CrAzInEsS!Some of his stunts in the last week or so include...

*dumping almost a whole container of fish food into the fish bowl

* smearing peanut butter into his hair

*standing on the kitchen table and swinging the chandelier

*learning how to open every gate and child proof lock we have

* climbing out of his crib and refusing to nap

*grumpiness and screaming

*bedtime battles

Good thing he's cute ~ Wink! Wink!

I blame it on this adorable thing we got for free a few years ago that I have been saving just for him ~ his firetruck bed

It's beat up but it's cute!

He was ready to move into it and did fine for the first week or so. He wouldn't nap in it but still napped in his crib - we're talking a good 3 hour nap every single day. Then about 2 weeks ago he climbed out of his crib. Now I know I'm very lucky he stayed in it that long. But once he climbed out naps went bye-bye! Completely gone!! I can't keep the kid still long enough to fall asleep! At first it wasn't so bad - it totally bothered me - here's 3 more hours in the day I've got to fill up! - but he would go down for bed super early - around 6pm. But just these last few days he is totally fighting bedtime - continually coming out of his room - which I just don't have time to keep putting him back. His door is a little off which means I can't lock him in and whatever gate I put up he gets out of. I've had to resort to this a couple of times when it's gotten close to 9pm and he still isn't asleep...

Whatever works right!! Never have I had a child give me so much trouble about sleeping. He is so tired and cranky!! Any sleeping advice would be much appreciated!!

On a happier note he sure can be fun. He is 2 years and 8 months. He is 39.2 lbs and 40". He says cute things like, "I have a good idea." "How do you know." "That's so funny." "Holy Cow!" He's staring to use funny voices. His favorite shows to watch right now are "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse" and "Blues Clues". He's a fast learner - especially with songs. He doesn't go around singing but if you say a line to a song and leave out a word he'll fill in the blank after only hearing the song once or twice. He knows his ABCs and can count to 30! He is happiest outside but sometimes won't stay there very long. Sometimes he's good about playing with his toys and sometimes he needs lots of attention. I guess he's a typical 2 1/2 year old.

Hall Family Picnic and Other April Things

On April 4th we had our annual Hall Family Picnic. As I've said time and time again I love my extended family to pieces and can't get enough of them.

I LOVE MY FAMILY!!

And now to catch up on what else has been going on.

Andy lost his 3rd tooth (3/29/11)!!

I've been so excited to have 2 boys missing both middle teeth at the same time - but alas it will never be. Alex's right middle tooth is already growing in. Weird how they loose opposite teeth from each other.

T-ball finished up on April 2nd
