Annie

These 2 tried out for the Annie production at the Queen Creek Performing Arts Center.

Tyler got a part!! He is Officer Ward ~ the policeman who brings Annie back to the orphanage. He has a few more scenes in the play that aren't in the movie. He will also be in the men's ensemble - singing and dancing in different scenes. Don't ask me how he is supposed to add this to his already CrAzY schedule ~ a full time job, an online teaching job, taking Andy and Alex to cub scout activities, and his new calling as ElDER'S QUORUM PRESIDENT!! Life for the next 9 weeks is going to be nuts. But we are excited. Tyler was is a few plays in high school and loves this kind of thing! The play will be showing the weekend of June 24th.

Abby took her news of not getting in very well. She was bummed but got over it pretty quickly. Tyler said she did pretty well in her audition. She sang well and seemed self confident. We'll see if she'd like to try out for something else in the future.

Our friend's daughter got the actualy part of Annie! I can't wait to go watch!!

Easter Pageant

Last night (4/12/11) we were able to go to the Mesa Easter Pageant. It was dress rehearsal night which means it starts an hour earlier and there are less people there. Yay! Our friends the Kents and the Lees met us there. Grandma Pam and Grandma Hall came too. The weather was beautiful!

Can you imagine setting this up every year!

Love this!!
Ben cuddled with Grandma Pam most of the night.

K-3 Music Concert

The kids had a music concert at school tonight. It was ...interesting. It was for K-3rd grade and with all the kids and parents there were just too many people. Our family was sitting way over to the side so I couldn't really see Andy and Alex perform at all. Or hear them for that matter. I snuck my camera to my friend Kathy who had a better view but do you think I listened to that little feeling that said - check the batteries in your camera. Of course not!! Between the few of us we got a few pictures.
The K/1st grade sang songs about animals. They all have animal masks on.2nd/3rd grade sang songs about peace and love. They all have big peace signs on.
For Abby's performance I was able to get a better seat. I did catch this video which I was really happy about. Abby has been signing this song to everyone she knows for months. Wish I could have gotten more video but I'll take what I can get.
DISCLAIMER: MY VIDEO WON'T UPLOAD!! I'VE BEEN TRYING FOR LIKE 24 HOURS TO GET IT ON HERE AND IT'S NOT WORKING. THIS IS SO FRUSTRATING BECAUSE THE WHOLE PURPOSE OF THIS BLOG POST WAS TO POST THIS CUTE VIDEO. FIRST NO VIDEO OF THE BOYS AND THEN MY CAMERA KEPT DYING AND THEN ~ HAPPINESS BEAUSE I DID RECORD A LITTLE BIT AND ABBY WAS SO CUTE BUT NOW ~UG! MAJOR BUMMER. I'LL KEEP TRYING BUT FOT THE SAKE OF TRYING REALLY HARD TO STAY CAUGHT UP ON MY BLOG I'M MOVING ON. SO SAD.

She's smack in the middle of the 2nd row. This is them signing Pizza Love.

Here's my animals. I said to Alex, "Lets see - you must be a duck." "No mom! I'm a turkey!" Apparently he was the only turkey in 1st grade. To Andy I said, "Well I know you're a frog." "No mom! I'm a turtle!!"
Abby with her peace sign.

Here they are with their music teacher - Mrs. Melessa

Grandma Pam and Grandpa Dave came to the concert and brought us donuts for a treat afterwards

YUM!!
