First Week of School

We survived the first week of school at our brand new school American Leadership Academy. I had no problems with Circle Cross Ranch and loved getting to know and working with the staff there. My heart still twinges out of loyalty to that school whenever I drive by it. But this new charter school (new here, but there are other campuses in Arizona & Utah) was built right down the street from us. It even has a high school if we continue on that long. This was such a hard decision for me as I have been pro public school this whole time but something about ALA just felt right. We are impressed with the leadership skills they will be taught here which conincide with the Covey 7 Habits of Highly Evective People. There will also be an emphasis on patriotism. The faculty and staff here seem awesome!! We are excited for the accelerated program which we think will be great for the boys. I also feel this school will help Abby with her personal and social skills. She also just needed a change from CCR where she didn't really have good friends and complained about being teased. So far the first week of ALA was great! They do have uniforms. Not sure how I feel about that exactly but they sure look cute and make getting dressed in the morning easy. I'll just miss dressing them cute for school pictures and things.

Here they are in front of the school at Meet the Teacher. Abby's 4th grade teacher is Miss Coleman (who she loves!) and Andy and Alex are in the same 2nd grade class with Miss McFarlane.

Go ALA!!

Public School Everywhere are not bad, but you know my feeling about the public schools around here but thats not my purpose of commenting. You have to do what's best for your kids. I hope ALA is good for you and your kids. I have heard good things about it. I hope it's a good switch for you guys.
