Family Vacation Day #4

Thursday, July 11th

The whole way up to Colorado, especially as we passed lake after lake, Alex kept asking, "Can we go fishing on our vacation?  Please can we go fishing?"  And we kept saying, "No Alex.  We can't go fishing.  There won't be time to go fishing.  We didn't bring our fishing poles.  Daddy does not have a license to go fishing in Colorado."  But as we were visiting at the condo after we arrived Tuesday night Uncle Jay said, "Does anyone want to go fishing in the morning?  I brought about 10 fishing poles!"  I love that Tyler's mom captured Alex's reaction (red shirt...big smile!!)

They not only went fishing Wednesday morning but they went Thursday morning as well.  Alex was in HEAVEN!!  Wednesday morning at Dillon Reservoir was not successful.  But Thursday morning at Rainbow Lake was better.  The group caught 2 fish...1 by Alex and 1 by Matthew (but Andy kind of takes credit for it because he helped bring it in). Ü  I thought it was hilarious both days when I asked Tyler if he had fun and he said that is was actually kind of boring.  He wasn't able to fish since he only has an AZ fishing license and so it was no fun for him.  Ha!  Apparently there is a big difference between sitting there holding a fishing pole and just sitting there.  Who knew!  Ü

Back at the condo...Catherine and Elena were part of the Tanner fan club.  He had plenty of attention at all times. Ü

After everyone got back from fishing we went into the town of Frisco...a neighboring town to Breckenridge.  We went to a section of the town that had several older buildings and told about the history of the town.  Several of the buildings had been moved from different places around the city to this park but I believe this school house is in its original location.  They built the museum/park around it.  (I could be totally lying...but I think that's right. Ü)

We all gathered for lunch at this cute pavilion in the park.  Aunt Cindy made yummy taco salad.

CJ  loved to give Tanner shoulder rides.  Tanner wasn't always happy about that. Ü

My guys

After lunch everyone kind of went their own way.  We started walking around the town...

...but then the strangest thing happened.  I all the sudden got so, SO sick.  We were inside this antique shop and I suddenly just had to run to the bathroom where I threw up,  My body got very tingly and almost numb.  I felt like I was swelling up and I got very shaky.  I was in the bathroom for quite a while and I really couldn't move.  I was so uncomfortable.  It took everything in me not to lie down on the bathroom floor!  After a while I was able to call Tyler and tell him I was not doing well.  He decided to take the kids and walk back to the car and then drive over to the store and I would meet him out front.  But I literally couldn't get my body under control enough to get up.  I knew the only way I was going to get out of that bathroom was if Tyler gave me a blessing and I just kept praying he would come find me.  Luckily he did and luckily the bathroom was a one person stall thing!  He came right in, gave me a blessing, and within a few minutes he was able to help me to the car.  SO WEIRD!!!  Tyler said if he said seen a sign for a hospital he would have taken me there; I was still shaking and felt so strange.  I actually did see a sign for a hospital and almost said something to Tyler but I felt - no, just get back to the condo and you'll be ok.   I shook and slept on and off for a few hours, and had a couple of other tummy troubles, but then, as suddenly as it had come, I was all the sudden fine!  I got up, took a shower, and ate homemade burnt almond fudge ice cream with everyone.  I almost felt bad.  Cindy had brought over all these essentials oils to help me feel better but I didn't need them because I was totally fine!  I felt like I had to tell people - I promise I wasn't making that up!!  CRAZY!  Jay was thinking maybe I had a bout of altitude sickness made worse due to dehydration.
I did miss out on the adult dinner that night to celebrate Jay's birthday.  The older kids babysat the younger kids while the adults went to a Cajun restaurant.  That was a bummer.
