End of the Year Fun...Ben's Kinder Graduation...Abby's 6th Grade Walk

The end of the school year is always SO busy...but lots of fun!!
I was having a little trouble breaking it all up so here it all is in one big crazy post.
Between Kathy's pictures and mine I think we captured everything. Ü

Abby participated in a volleyball camp for the 2nd year in a row.  She says she LOVES volleyball.  We'll see if she goes anywhere with it in Jr. High.

Abby missed it because she was sick :(
The Kindergarteners sang The Star Spangled Banner
4th grade sang a song called Inspiration

Along with the concert they had artwork by all of the students up in the hallways

Kind of forgot to take one of Ben's :(
but here's a cute picture of him in front of the ALA sign outside his classroom

The kids LOVE doing speed stacking at school

They are pretty fast with those cups.  They can do the "cycle" ranging from 11-23 seconds.
Andy, Alex, and Ben put their money together and bought a special mat to play on that helps their cups not slip and times them. Ü

Tanner likes to play too!!

On Wed. May 28th the 6th graders had an end of the year ice cream social

Abby w/ friends McKenzie, Lilly, Dawnlyn & Melanie

I worked with Kathy and Laurie on a fun photo booth for the kids
(Totally Laurie's idea...I just helped blow up balloons and do the work only a tall person can do Ü)

BENJAMIN'S KINDERGARTEN GRADUATION!!!
Last day of school work as a kindergartener
I helped a little bit with getting kids situated for graduation.  While they were practicing where to sit I went down the row and snapped some pics to keep them entertained
We've got...starting from top left...Carter, Meagan (who did NOT want her picture taken with Carter), Lilianna, McKayla, Talmage, Gage, Isabella, Gunnar, Jayden, Tyler, Daniel, Jocelyn, Hailey
Bottom left...Jeremiah, Charles, Kellen, Tommy, Alyssa, and then Meagan again who was MORE than willing to get her picture taken with ham-it-up Ben Ü
Also in his class were Wilson & Elizabeth...they were there for graduation...just not before hand

Here he comes!!
Perfect picture ~ thanks Kathy!! Ü

All Smiles on his Special Day!! Ü

Tanner ~ this will be you in 4 years!!  Hope it doesn't come too quickly!!

Meagan led everyone in the Leadership Pledge
Go Meagan!!
"As a student of American Leadership Academy I am proactive, which makes a difference in my life and in the lives of others.  I begin each task with the end in mind as I learn to put first things first.  I avoid confrontation by thinking win win and by seeking first to understand.  I create synergy with my class by working with others and I take time to balance my life by sharpening my saw."

Miss York getting ready to announce her graduating class

She even got a little teary eyed

Ben being an A last name was the first one presented from his class.  Here he is shaking hands with the Assistant Principle Miss Reay.  The camera wouldn't work fast enough to snap one of him shaking hands with Principal Mrs. Allison.

Yay Ben!!  Congratulations!!
Abby came out of class for his graduation too but headed back before we started the picture taking.  I was proud of her for making the effort to come support her brother.  Andy and Alex were too busy with their end of the year parties.  Ü

I am proud to say that I was the one who suggested we keep the photo booth from the 6th grade social up for the graduation.  The Kinder teachers spruced it up with fun props and it was a total hit!!

Way to go Ben!!  He is sooooooo ready for 1st grade!!

Andy & Alex received awards for staying on the Honor Roll (As & Bs) all 4 quarters...but took videos of that and didn't grab a picture. :(

Can't leave out Abby who tried her absolute best this year!!  Just couldn't get past that C in math...but that is ok.  I helped out in the office ALOT this year...280 hours!!!  The administration let me do a work program in exchange for Ben attending full day Kinder at no charge.  (SO THANKFUL!!).  On one of these days I filed the 6th graders math placements for next year.  The order of classes...from lowest to highest...went from Math 4/5, Math 6, Course 1, Course 2, Course 3, Pre-Algebra, and then Algebra.  I was so proud of Abby when I saw she placed in Course 3.  So proud!!

6th GRADE WALK

Instead of a graduation ceremony for the 6th graders they participated in a "walk" which consisted of going from their upper grade building...

...across the playground...

...and into the lower grade building.  In both buildings all the younger grades lined the halls giving high five's to the 6th graders and cheering them on.

Ben high fiving Zoey

Then they headed into the office...

...where they where met with encouraging signs from the specials teachers...

...and smiles and waves from Mrs. Allison...

...and into the gym where they were surprised with their parents waiting for them! Ü

Daddy was on at business conference in Georgia and couldn't be there but Mom, Tanner,

and Grandma sure enjoyed surprising her. Ü

She reluctantly wore Ben's graduation hat for a few pictures. Ü
