October 2015

October started off with Fall Break...and a road trip!!

Off to Utah we go!!

We left on the afternoon of Thursday, October 1st (right during lovely rush hour) and stayed in St. George over night with our Morgan cousins.  Then is was up to Provo & BYU!!

The new Payson temple

And the beautiful new Provo City Center Temple

Hey!  Its our old place!! Ü
(up by where the car is parked...)

We love taking our kids to our old stomping grounds Ü

Daddy used to work here!!

You gotta buy something from the bookstore while you're here...its tradition!!
This time it was a family book about 125 Cool Inventions

Abby bought herself some BYU earrings

And she bought Tanner a BYU football.
It was fun watching the kids and Tyler play catch in the quad. Ü

Fall Leaves!!

We had fun walking around in the Gordon B Hinckley Aulmni building.  That's new since we went here.  They had all kind of cool exhibits about the history of BYU. Vocal Point was also practicing in one of the rooms while we there. Ü

Posing with the Cosmo cutout...We LOVE Cosmo!! Ü

They tore down DT :( and the old Heritage Halls and built these new beautiful Heritage Halls.  Our nieces Dru and Jessica live in the building on left.

We heard the Bean Museum had recently been redone...so we went to check it out!

We saw a live animal show and got to pet the snakes...

While we were in UT we stayed in a vacation home in Murray with...

Seeing these 2 was one of the main reasons for our trip!!  Grandma, at 92, hasn't been dong too well lately.  Grandpa is 94.  You just never know.  So glad we got to spend some time with them!!

Here is the other reason for our trip...

The Sunday afternoon session of General Conference!!!

The kids were super excited to be at conference.
Especially Alex.  He kept saying, "I can't believe we're here.  This is so awesome!!"
Kids ages 8 & up are able to attend conference in the conference center.  Tyler and I were able to attend a session when we were first married.  Loved being there this time with our oldest 3!!  Ben and Tanner had fun staying with cousins.

We loved watching the room fill up and the apostles come in!!

The 3 new apostels...Elders Rasband, Stevens, and Renlund
(and some security guys Ü)

Elders Nelson, Holland, Cook, and Christopherson

Hi Elder Oaks!!

During the actual conference you weren't supposed to take pictures...but I did get a video of President Monson walking in.  That is my favorite part...how it gets so reverent and everyone stands for the prophet!!
Such a  great session and experience!!

Tyler got an early birthday present this year.  On October 26th he was let go from his job at University of Phoenix.  He had been employed there for 12 years.  It is very bittersweet as he hadn't been happy there for awhile and the company and its managers have just started being weird.  We are being taken care of in the meantime and know something amazing will come our way. Ü

Brent came over when he heard the news.  He bought us some pizza...
...and brought us a sympathy gift Ü

I love you Tyler!!!
I know just the right thing will come along to bless you and our family.
Happy 38th birthday!!
