When there's a bomb threat at your daughter's school...and you find out by other moms calling to make sure she's ok... then you see the email that says they've been evacuated to another school...

May 12, 2016

Today ALA Ironwood JH/HS school received a bomb threat.  We have taken the proper precautions by evacuating all 6th grade, Junior High and High School students.  Ironwood Elementary is currently on lock down with warning. 6th grade students are being brought to the Elementary campus.   All students are accounted for and safe.  Because it will take time to clear the buildings we have transported all students (except 6th grade) to American Leadership academy Queen Creek High School Gym.   We will use all contact methods possible throughout this process to keep you up to date.

...and then you see on Facebook that you can go pick up your child if you'd like...but you know its going to be a zoo down there so you decide to wait until the next update...and then the next update says that the all clear has been given and they've been brought back to Ironwood and the day will continue on as normal...but then your daughter can't believe you didn't pick her up because the majority of the school went home and the rest sat in the gym the rest of the day and watched a movie.  Good grief!  Ok, maybe that wasn't exciting...but it sure is memorable!! So Talented Ü

Several times throughout the year I had the feeling that I should take a picture of the boys with their teacher, Mrs. Haertl.  But I never did it and figured I would just wait and do it at the end of the year.  But 3 weeks before school was out Mrs. Haertl left due to health concerns and didn't come back!  I got this picture of her off Facebook to remember her.  She was a perfect fit for the boys...a really great teacher...and I hope she's doing better!

Ben loved his 2nd grade teacher Ms. Kinnard.  We did too.  She was wonderful!!
