Guess What?!?!

I had an ultrasound scheduled for today to check the size of the baby. I've gone back and forth between seeing my doctor (Dr. Huish) and the PA (Talia) my whole pregnancy. Talia kept saying, "Well from his ultrasounds the baby is measuring pretty big and I would totaly move your due date up a whole week or more" but Dr. Huish kept saying, "Nope, he's fine, your fine, we're keeping your date Sept. 4th." But he scheduled an ultrasound to check the size with the possibility of inducing me a few days early if I wanted. Well at the ultrasound today baby Benjamin was measuring 9+ pounds (give or take a pound)!!! The technician said that according to all the measurements my due date should have been Aug. 18th which makes me 3 days overdue!! When we got home there was a message on our answering machine from my dr. saying, "You've got a really big baby in you and we should probably get him out." So I'm going into the hospital in the morning to be induced. Crazy huh?!? I'm so happy!!! I don't know how long it will take for me to get back into blogging and get pictures of Benjamin posted but keep checking back because I'll do it as soon as possible. Wish me luck!!!

Abby's Fundraiser

My cute Abby is doing a fundraiser at school. They are selling the 2009 Entertainment Book (a book full of coupons) for $25. We can get books for any state/city although the price does vary from city to city. If anyone is interested in buying a book, please let me know and we'll get you one. The fundraiser ends on the 27th. Thanks!! Ü

Boys and Dirst

Our backyard isn't finished yet (if it ever is finished it will be a miracle!!) so when I send the kids outside I know they are going to get dirty. But add a lot of sweat to the picture and you have a whole different story... Alex
Andy's caked on dirt
Brushing each other off
So these pictures were taken on Monday. Abby was at Girl Scouts. I take one of the leaders 2 kids home with me to keep during the meeting and then she brings Abby home for me. Anyway so I had her 2 boys, ages 3 yrs and 6 months, plus Sophia the 21 month old little girl I babysit. The 3 boys ran outside as soon as we got home from dropping Abby off (always nice for me). I checked on them later and they were throwing dirt up in the air and letting it fall down on top of them. Now normally I discourage this kind of behavior but on this day I thought, "you know what - I'm 37 weeks preganant, trying to feed Ryan (the 6 month old) a bottle and trying to keep Sophia happy. They can throw as much dirt as they want." Once Sophia left (which wasn't that much later) and the baby was down for a nap I went out and got the boys in. I took the boys out to the front yard (I wasn't going to have them tromp upstairs to the bathtub! Plus the baby was sleeping in the room next door), stripped them down naked, soaped them up and hosed them down. So I'm now probably known in the neighborhood as the lady who bathes her naked kids in the front yard but again - I'm 37 weeks pregnant and I don't care. Ü Amazingly Ethan, the other 3 year old, hardly had any dirt on him.

Happy Anniversary to Us!

We celebrated our 7 year anniversary on August 9th. It's hard to believe it has been 7 years already but yet seems like forever (in a good way Ü)!! Our friends took our kids overnight (thank you Jessica!!!) and we were albe to go see "Prince Caspian", out to eat at Red Robin, do some shopping, and sleep in the next morning. Very nice. Ü

Andy and Alex started preschool

My boys started preschool a couple of weeks ago on August 8th. They LOVE it!!! They go on MWF from 11:30-2pm (so good-bye nap time) and their teacher's name is Mrs. Randall. She is in our ward and lives right here in our community. Thank you to my mom for helping us out with the expense - sending 2 boys to preschool isn't cheap!! Ü
They have show and tell on Fridays and their 1st day of school happened to be a Friday. So on their 1st day Andy took his kitty to share and Alex of course took his Pooh Bear. Come to think of it Alex has taken Pooh Bear to share both weeks so far. ÜPreschool Class

This week they have been talking about the Olympics. They have come home with an Olympic flag and torch. On Friday they are going to do their own Olympic games.

We Are Still Here

Sorry it's been so long since I've posted. Here's we've been back from CA for almost a whole month and things have seemed to be crazy busy. First of all we got a new computer. It took forever to get all the stuff from the old computer onto the new computer and get everything set up again. Here is a picture of Tyler trasferring things from one computer to the other while doing his teaching on his laptop. I thought the 3 computer thing was funny. Ü

Another exciting thing that has happened is that Abby started 1st grade on July 21st. She seems to be doing so good. She has stayed on green everyday except one which is a huge step up from last year. Already she has improved in her reading and writing skills. She's come home happy everyday (again another big step up!) and does pretty well at getting her homework done cheerfully. Her teacher's name is Mrs. Schwartzmann and Abby says she is really nice.

Antoher reason why I' haven't really gotten on here is because I have been obessed with organizing my house. I just feel like I have to have everything clean and ready before this baby comes. Can we say nesting here. Only 5 more weeks to go (hopefully sooner)!!! Here is a pic of me 2 weeks ago at 33 weeks.

That's pretty much what we've been up to. We'll keep you posted! Ü

Knotts Berry Farm

Last summer we hit Disneyland and this year we went to Knotts. The kids did so well - I was amazed!! It was 103 degrees that day and just with missing naps and everything I was kind of worried but they had a blast!! Of course I couldn't really go on anything (except the Merry Go Round adn the train Ü) and I was so proud of Tyler for standing in all the lines and riding everything with the kids. They were fearless and wanted to go on everything (which they pretty much did if they were tall enough). Even Abby who a few months ago broke down in tears when I told her about the Log Ride and how she had to go on it with me ("Please Mommy don't make me go on that scary ride!") conquered the Log Ride and even went on the Jaguar roller coaster and this humongus new water drop ride with Tyler. She took one look at Montazuma's Revenge though and said, "Um, no." Ü Camp Snoopy

Stick 'em up!
It was a long - but fun day!!
Another highlight of the trip was going to Huntington Beach. Abby loved going out into the waves with Tyler, Andy loved running away from all the waves, and Alex loved collecting seaweed. He'd find these huge clumps of it and had quite a pile going over where Grandma Pam was sitting with all of our stuff. When it started collecting flies (Eww!) he carried it all back down and threw it back into the water. Too cute! We took a disposable camera to the beach so maybe when we get home I'll scan some of the pictures and post them. We'll be home Saturday the 5th. Time has flown!!
