He came home from preschool with this birthday crown. It had 4 written all over it. Sorry, he's only 3. They fixed it for us. Ü

Ben got to open one present as soon as he woke up on his birthday. It was a bat and ball. He and Daddy got to play together at Grandma Hall's house that night.

Ben's birthday is on August 22nd. My Grandma Hall's birthday is August 23rd. So they got to celebrate together. We went to dinner at Golden Corral and then went back to Grandma Hall's house for presents and cake. Grandma opened her presents first.

41.8 lbs

42 inches tall

He loves to build his train at Grandma Pam's house. It is the first thing he goes for. Often he will get our Geo Trax out and build here too.Like his brother Alex, Ben LOVES puzzles and will spend hours a day doing them over and over. He amazes me.

Ben has always loved letters and numbers. He can recognize all his capital letters and most of his lower case letters and can count to 30. WOW!! He just learned how to draw smiley faces.

We love our sweet & smiley Ben Ben!!

The Boys Latest Adventures

I love these pictures of Andy and Alex at the Boyce Thompson Arboretum. Tyler took the kids one Saturday while I was at a baby shower. He had forgotten his camera but some lady took these cool pictures and emailed them to us. Thank you nice lady!!

Alex

Proof that Abby was there too - the guide is holding a scorpion that he pulled out of his pocket!!
Andy ~ love his missing front teeth!!

The fact that he has a lizzard on his head is pretty cool too ÜOn August 20th the boys went with their cub scout troop to the Challenger Space Museum

Pretty cool stuff. We've deicded not to continue with cub scouts this year. We'll wait until the turn 8 and then they will join the church troop. Abby isn't doing girl scouts anymore either. She just wasn't that into it. Andy and Alex will be 7 years old on the 12th of this month!! They will be going back to the arbortetum with some friends to celebrate so you might just be seeing more pictures with lizzards on their heads. Ü

10 Year Anniversary

10 years ago on August 9, 2001 Tyler and I were married in the Mesa, AZ temple. To celebrate the momentous occasion Tyler and I were able to get away to San Diego for 3 days. Hallelujah!! Thank you Kathy and my mom for helping out with the kids.

We drove over on August 8th. I don't even remember the name of the hotel we stayed in - Ha!! That's funny for me - I ussually remember things like that. Well, it was nice, on Hotel Circle, and thank you Travis for helping with arrangements.

After we got settled we drove to La Jolla. We were thinking about doing a session in the San Dieog temple but before heading over we realized it was Monday and the temple was closed. We ended up driving along the coast and stopped at an awesome park right along the ocean. The weather and scenery were both BEAUTIFUL!!

Check out the seals

We walked out onto this pier

The seals came right up onto the beach. Way fun to watch!!

Love this one posin'

That night we shared a dinner at Hunter's Steakhouse on Hotel Circle.

Day 2 ~ August 9th ~ our anniversary!!
We went down to Old Town San Diego. The first thing we did was tour the Mormon Battalion center. We really enjoyed that.

Then we got on the Old Town Trolley which took us all over San Diego making stops at the Harbor, the Gaslamp District, Coronado Island, Balboa Park, and Little Italy. The drivers would tell the history of the different parts of town as we drove around.

We got off at the Gaslamp District

We had to go into this place for a mid morning snack!!

Happiness!!

We shared this treat!! Yumminess!!

Here we are going over the bridge to Coronado Island

Day 3 ~ August 10th

We were able to go do some initiatories in the beautiful San Diego temple.

Then we went back and walked some more around Old Town.

We toured the Whaley House ~ the most haunted house in America!! I don't get it but it was a cool old house. Ü

San Diego History ~ incase you want to read up on it. Did you know San Diego was first named San Miguel?

After a lunch at La Pinata (thanks Deena for the reccomendation!!) we drove home.
