CA Trip Day #1

We drove over to CA on September 30th. My mom and Grandma Hall came on this trip with us too ~ so super fun!! Tyler, me, Ben, and Alex drove in my mom's car and Mom, Grandma, Andy, and Abby rode in Grandma's car (my mom being my mom wanted to spare us miles and gas money on our van Ü). My mom had tons of treats and activities to keep the kids busy in the car and we listened to books on tape.
We always stop at this "Flying J" right before the border to gas up and eat lunch at Wendy's.
Abby saw this cute display at the gas station and it made her excited for things to come. Ü
Going over the Colorado River into CA

We stayed at the Super 8 hotel across the street and down a little bit from Disneyland (boy were the fireworks loud at night!!). As soon as we got there the kids had to go try out the pool.

After eating dinner at Home Town Buffet my mom, grandma, and I went over to Anaheim 3rd ward's enrichment night. This is the ward I grew up in and so I got to see people I've known for forever - including my good friend Christy who now lives back in that ward. It was so good to see her - just like old times. It's crazy that now we are both moms!!
In some conversations the kids and I had before coming on this trip it seemed like they were almost more excited about sleeping in the hotel than they were about Disneyland! We had two connecting rooms. The 3 older kids would switch off who slept where each night.
I was really nervous about Ben sleeping in the play pen but he did great!! I love how his head is touching one end and his foot is touching the other in this picture. He's totally too big for this thing!

Visions of Disneyland danced in their heads!!

Fall Break

The kids had fall break the last 2 weeks of September. The first thing we did was go up to Camp Lamia in Pine for the 3rd Annual Hall Family Reunion (September 18th & 19th). I was kind of disappointed with the way my pictures turned out from that trip. Of course I took a ton but probably half of them are blurry, too dark, or too light. I really don't understand our camera. Here are a few from the reunion to prove we were there. I love spending time with my extended family!

The 3 boys got very dirty making mud pies

Ben read LOTS of books!

Abby attended a baseball camp (September 25th). Originally we had all 3 kids signed up for it but then soccer interfered for the boys. Abby was brave and stuck it out - and I think she even had fun.

After baseball Abby and I went and saw Ramona and Beezus. I read all these books when I was younger and Abby has listened to all of them on CD. Such a cute movie!! If it is out in time, I know what I'll be getting Abby for Christmas. Ü

Had breakfast at a park by Grandma Pam's house. Quiche, strawberries, and cinnamon rolls ~ Yum!

We said goodbye to our good friends the Wares. I had an education class with Rachel up at BYU and then when Tyler and I got married we happened to move in next door to her and her husband Ryan. They ended up moving to Queen Creek and I babysat Sophia since she was 2 months until just over 2 years old when Abby got sick. Now they have baby Courtney and are off to new adventures in North Carolina. Best of luck and you'll be missed!!

Then we were off to....

but that will be another post... Ü

What great pictures!! I especially love the one of Abby squatting in the grass! That would be a gorgeous wrapped canvas, even if it was only an 8x8. Please be sure to upload these picture into HM so I have access to them. It looks like it was a fun packed two weeks! Wow! Most kids don’t get to do that many fun things all summer. You rock, MOM!!

Boys First Soccer Game

Andy and Alex played their first soccer game on September 18th. They are on the blue team. I love this video of Alex making a goal. Then how on the next play he didn't realize the ball had gone out of bounds and brought it back in to score another goal. Too bad it didn't count! They won this game and have lost 2. Two more games to play! Ü

6 Year Olds

These guys had a birthday today!!
Andy
Alex

My kids are so weird. Whenever you ask them what they want for Christmas or a birthday they start rattling off food items.

Andy wanted his own box of frozen waffles

his own box of Twinkiesand his own box if cinnamon toast crunchAlex got his own munchies tooThis was the funniest. I sent the kids out to the garage to find a surprsie in the freezer - the frozen waffles. Even though Andy was the one who asked for them I was going to say it was for both of them. Alex came back in with this water bottle with the hugest smile on his face. He had been asking for a new water bottle - even though he has one that works fine - and he was so excited for his new HUGE frozen one. That thing has been sitting in the freezer for a couple of years now!! We forgot to take it with us one year on one of our trips and every time I clean out the freezer I just leave it in there thinking one of these days it will come in handy. I guess today was the day. Alex was as pleased as punch with his surprise in the freezer and Andy came in wondering where his water bottle was - he hadn't even seen the frozen waffles which were right there on top! They did get non edible items for gifts as well

$ for our upcoming CA trip

Grandma Allen gave the boys their birthday present when she was here in August ~ their photo collages!
Worm Cake made by Grandma Pam ~ Loved it!
(since several of you asked she also made Ben's Elmo cake)

I caught this shot in the middle of them wrestling after church ~ it's a love/hate relationship most of the time
Oh, and Andy learned to roll his tongue

Happy Birthday Boys!!
