Mr. Kindergartner did a great job going to school his first day!
He wanted to be the boy in blue and even made sure he wore blue underwear.

 They quickly found their friends!!
Abby & Gabby

Ben & Meagan
They are in the same class this year!

Here are some great shots of our school taken by my friend Kathy Kent.  She is our school historian.  I helped her edit these pictures of the campus and teachers that she took on curriculum night...so that means I get permission to use them on my blog right? Ü

Our assistant principal ~ Miss Reay ~ and principal ~ Mrs. Allison

The kids are surrounded by positive quotes in their halls and cafeteria.  Love it!!

This collage is made up of student's photos.
Andy and Alex's pictures from 2nd grade are in the bottom right section.

Abby won a $50 gift card to Olive Garden during curriculum night.  That was pretty exciting!!

Fun Family Day

Its not everyday you get to take a family of 7 to Olive Garden for about $15!!
 Thanks ALA!!

After a few days of school Ben decided it was much too long and that he missed mommy.  He cried every morning for about a month. :(  Grandma bribed him with ice cream and he eventually calmed down.  He even earned student of the day...

...and later Student of the Week where he got to display a special poster all about him.

Here is an email I got from Miss York about Ben...

Hi Carrie!

I want you to know how amazing Ben has been today. He showed how
to be proactive and do what He  was suppose to do. Thank you for allowing
me the privilege  to teach him this year. Keep up the good work!

Have a great day!

Kindergarten Field Trip to the Zoo!
November 26th

Tyler got to take Ben & Meagan around

I think one of Tyler's favorite things to do is take pictures at the zoo Ü

Another of Tyler's favorite things to buy them a souvenir at the end of the fieldtrip Ü

Alex ran for the position of vice president on the student lighthouse team (student council)
making his posters

kids running for office

about ready to give his speech to all of 3rd-6th grade
SO PROUD OF HIM!!

He didn't win...but he did come in 2nd!
(I know because I counted the votes Ü)
Even though he isn't an officer he is still on the council and gets to participate in some extra fun things...like serving breakfast at the schools Veterans Day Pancake Breakfast (November 8th).  The back to school blessing Tyler gave to Alex talked a lot about the leadership qualities he would show this year.

Some of Alex's special projects this year have been his Geometry Project

and his book report on one of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books

Andy also worked on a geometry project

and a book report on one of the Diary of a Wimpy Kids books.
(I swore my kids would never read those books...but all 3 older kids have read all 8 books this semester!!)
frowning like Greg in Diary of a Wimpy Kid
After one week of school Andy's teacher, Miss Disney, called me.  I wondered how in the world he could have gotten into trouble already!!  But she was just calling to tell me what an awesome kid Andy was, how impressed she was with him and how lucky she was to have him in her class. Ü  Since then I've also gotten this email from her...

Carrie,
I wanted to let you know that I think Andy is one special kid. He tries his best, is proactive in his endeavors, and genuinely cares about school. Bravo to you for great parenting and having such a wonderful boy. He is truly a pleasure to have in class.
Have a great night!
