March 2015

Happy March!

We had rain off and on throughout the month.  In this picture Tanner was told he could go outside on the porch but to stay out of the puddle.  I guess he kind of did? Ü

The elementary school had career day where the kids got to dress up as what they wanted to be when they grew up.  So here we have Alex, the fisherman, Ben, the basketball star, and Andy, the professional Minecraft player.
March 6th

ALA High School put on the play High School Musical.  Tyler took Abby to see the show.  Here Abby is posing with the girl who played Gabriella.

My cousin Emily Welchman was the music director and Katelyn Kent and Emily Christman from our ward acted in it.

That same night Tyler and the boys went to watch Tanner Stanley, another youth in our ward, star in Queen Creek High School's performance of Jospeh and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.  Talented kids!!

Check out Ben and Tanner's yoga moves
playing Wii Fit

The stake primary had a special missionary activity where the kids were "called" on missions and then went to a class where an adult who had actually gone on that mission taught the kids about the area and their experience there.  Tanner wasn't sure about the whole thing.  I think he thought I was really sending him off on a mission...he kept saying, "I don't want to go!!" Ü

Luckily he was "called" to Brazil with his best friend Gabe...

Gabe's dad was the MTC teacher in that class and Gabe and Tanner got to pretend to be companions.

Tanner and Gabe wearing Brother Johnson's real missionary tags

The kids got to take the famous map picture pointing to where they "served"

Andy pointing to Italy

Ben was excited to learn about Hawaii...that's where Mrs. Nuesca, his school teacher, is from!

Alex "went" to Portugal

Girls Temple Night!!!  Some of us brought our daughters and did baptisms Ü
In the words of Abby, "Your friends are strange...but funny and nice so that makes up for the strange."  Ü

The Davenport brothers got their Eagle awards...one of them honored Tyler was a special mentor pin

March means 2 weeks of spring break!!
I kept a list of what we did each day...but I lost it. :(  Luckily these pictures will help me remember some of what we did. Ü

For FHE the 1st day we went to Jump Street...
(where I took mostly videos...but was brave enough to get this awesome shot of me!!)

the ride on toys are about as fun as the trampolines!!

...then over to Makutu's Island...both with our Pogo Pass
(where the batteries in my camera died right after walking in the door Ü)

Tanner made a cute St. Patrick Day craft in playgroup

Andy and Alex had a fun day at Cub Scout Day Camp

Tanner went to his first birthday party for his friend Zach Lucas

Zach turned 4!!

It was a low key party at the park with pizza and bubbles...the best!! Ü
March 11th

We talked about possibly using our Pogo Pass to go to the zoo one Saturday...but it didn't end up happening.  Too keep the kids happy I suggested they play pretend zoo at home.  It got a little more involved then I thought it would.  I guess with my children I shouldn't have been surprised. Ü

It was not happy. :(

To top it off I went to make dinner and found the cheese like this!!

At least Abby had a good St. Patrick's Day evening with the youth at the temple!

It took us a couple of weeks but we finally did get the screen door replaced Ü

Spring Break means a lot of time to be creative!!  The twins worked magic with the playdoh...

Alex made the above stegosaurus and a T-rex for Tanner

Andy made a whale friend for Whaley

and a duck!!

Abby always makes awesome designs with the pattern blocks...
